MANILA, Philippines - Undisputedly the top quick service Chinese restaurant chain in the country, Chowking over the years has steadily amassed satisfied diners from both ends of the social spectrum - not only because of the many mouth-watering, affordable items on the menu, but also because it adjusts to ever changing preferences of the Pinoy customer.

By 1996, it had 100 branches and forged on with aggressiveness to enjoy high visibility of even more stores in all major cities and towns across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Predictably, Chowking forayed into the international scene, setting up shop successfully in the United States and the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and the Middle East.

Acquired by Jollibee Food Corporation at the turn of the Millenium, Chowking has marked its turning point with the beginning of renovations and improvements along with a fresh corporate image; made concrete by a brand-new retail identity and various systems to further ensure cost efficiency, speed up service and increase customer satisfaction. Given their new face, Chowking still remained truthful to their simple yet premise - to serve consistently delicious and hot food amid clean surroundings – and the hard work and commitment was duly recognized as it bagged the coveted Hall of Fame award as the Most Outstanding Filipino Food Franchise in 2001.
