3 boys hurt in Quezon City fire

MANILA, Philippines — Three boys were injured in a fire that razed three shanties in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City on Sunday.

Arson investigators said the victims, aged five to 15, suffered burns.

The fire broke out at past 10 a.m. and reached the first alarm, the Bureau of Fire Protection’s National Capital Region field office said in a report.

Investigation showed that the fire originated on the second floor of a two-story house along Alley street.

Probers are looking into faulty electrical wiring as the cause of the fire.

Nine families were affected by the fire. Damage to property was placed at P25,000.

Eighteen firetrucks and four ambulances responded.
