San Juan City just added another dining spot in the small city I live in! Our city is lined with several small restaurants and cafés. There are so many to choose from and some I just even walk to.

ACafé celebrates beauty, art, and leisure. It is a haven for those seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of San Juan City and a place to indulge in the simple pleasures of life.

ACafé is the brainchild of Diana Lee, an artist and entrepreneur who wanted to bring her love of beauty and aesthetics to the culinary world. As the owner of Aryana International Aesthetic Center, Diana understands the importance of attention to detail and creating an experience that leaves a lasting impression. Diana’s ethos is centered on the notion of savoring each bite and relishing the culinary delights on offer. ACafé provides food at reasonable prices and they have an extensive selection on their menu.

Enjoy their selection of artisanal specialty coffee, freshly squeezed fruit juices, and an array of non-alcoholic beverages. ACafé’s commitment to using only natural and fresh ingredients not only contributes to the overall health and wellbeing of its customers but also promotes sustainable food practices by sourcing ingredients locally and using sustainable food-production methods. They make a conscious effort to provide their customers with healthy and nourishing food options by avoiding harmful food additives, preservatives, and food colorings.

Favorites at ACafé include their Power Protein Salad with mango and avocado with their special dressing, the Salmon Tartare, Squash Carbonara, and Broccoli Two-Cheese soup.

ACafé is located at 453 P. Guevarra Street, San Juan City. The restaurant can accommodate 40 guests: 24 indoor and 16 al fresco. They are open to catering for private parties. Call 8292-3612 or (0947) 192-3612 for inquiries.

Hope for the next generation

The Philippines is helping to contribute purposeful change in the community and the world at large thanks to homegrown companies Generation HOPE and Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX).

Recently, both companies have been recognized by Real Leaders for their exceptional contributions to social and environmental impact, ranking them in 232nd and 257th place, respectively, joining the ranks of other winners such as Tesla, Ben & Jerry’s, and Crocs.

Founded in 2010, Real Leaders is a membership community for impact leaders with a global media platform dedicated to driving positive change. In its fifth year, the magazine reveals its Impact Awards, which ranks 300 Impact Companies solving existential problems through innovative and sustainable, market-based solutions.

Nanette Medved-Po, founder and executive chairperson at HOPE and PCX, said, “We are thrilled to be recognized by Real Leaders among many other values-aligned companies. We aspire to continue to build out effective market-based solutions to address important environmental and social issues in the Philippines and beyond.”

Generation Hope has made a significant impact since its establishment in 2012, actively contributing to vulnerable communities, agriculture and environmental conservation. Likewise, Plastic Credit Exchange’s mission is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy and to build a future where no plastic ends up in nature. PCX is addressing the plastic waste problem by collecting, tracking, monetizing and repurposing plastic while supporting communities on the ground. It is the only fully transparent global marketplace for audited plastic waste reduction.
