Robert Ronquillo is the CEO of Kinnovate Inc., the developer and distributor of Kyln Pizza Ovens. He has a background in product development and engineering and decided to develop a portable LPG-powered pizza oven that could cook Neapolitan-style pizzas in the convenience of people’s own homes.

He started conceptualizing Kyln Ovens around March 2020 during the start of the lockdown. It took him 10 months to come up with a viable product that is a polished and refined portable pizza oven, which bears the Kyln trademark that guarantees quality.

The Kyln is an LPG-powered pizza oven capable of reaching temperatures up to 500°C after a 15-minute pre-heat. It takes about 60-90 seconds to cook a completely raw 10-inch Neapolitan-style pizza that has signature charring on its crust while keeping the toppings still moist. This is how real Neapolitan pizzas in Naples are cooked, which is under two minutes!

A refractory baking stone (which is included with purchase) lessens moisture from the dough when cooking, resulting in a well-cooked, slightly charred pizza base. This would be almost impossible to achieve in a standard oven because it cooks at only around 220°C, resulting in needing to bake the crust with sauce separately from the toppings and cheese.

The Kyln is economical, consuming only 287g of LPG per hour, perfect for small businesses looking to start offering pizza on their menu.

Other accessories included with the Kyln Pizza Oven aside from the baking stone are a 12-inch wood-fiber launch peel, 12-inch aluminum peel, digital thermometer, all-weather bag, pizza tongs, pizza slicer, and a dough scraper.

Kyln was launched in May of this year and has since then been recognized by chefs in the Philippines. Chef JP Anglo of Sarsa gave a uniquely Filipino twist to pizza when he offered both a sisig and longganisa pizza at Makati Street.

Chef Chele Gonzalez of Gallery by Chele experimented with the fusion of NY-style pastrami on pizza.

Kermit Pizzeria (which reputedly has the best pizza in Siargao) owner Gianni Grifoni used the Kyln to develop new flavors of pizza for his restaurants.

Other chefs that have used the Kyln oven include RV Manabat, Tatung Sarthou, Rosebud Benitez, and Hapag Private Dining chefs Thirdy Dolatre and John Kevin Navoa.

I myself have a Kyln Oven and have produced perfect pizzas in exactly 90 seconds! One may quickly cook steak, chicken, lasagna, moussaka, and other dishes in this oven as well. Best of all, it is proudly Philippine-made! Support local!
