The art of home decorating
Casa de Memoria, the Lhuillier-managed auction house, offers the perfect opportunity to spruce up your living space with Tercero, its upcoming online auction this Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. The auction will feature over 200 European and Filipino art pieces.
Lhuillier-Albani, together with interior decorator Ram Bucoy and consultant Monchet Olives, hosted an online press preview via Zoom to give a sneak peek at Tercero. They offered advice on decorating living spaces, especially now when many of us are stuck at home.
Casa de Memoria general manager Camille Lhuillier-Albani said, “Art has been used to bring joy, inspiration, and strength, and our homes need these now more than ever.”
Bucoy said, “When decorating, always go with your instincts and never second guess. If you see something you really like, that’s it! It will instantly put a smile on your face. For me, decorating is also about creating moments that reflect not only the decorator, but also the homeowner. At Tercero, you'll find a lot of affordable and small pieces that you can easily place in your home or mount on your wall. These are perfect starting pieces for your home, and you can build your art collection from there.”
During the preview, Casa de Memoria highlighted the lots going under the hammer, which included a pair of edition prints by Spanish-Filipino artist Fernando M. Zobel, a gladiator sculpture by Isabelo Tampinco, and a lithograph titled “The Creation of Eve” by Salvador Dali. My favorite is the Tampinco sculpture.
