Potted Potter returns

MANILA, Philippines - The outrageously hilarious and smash hit show Potted Potter returns to Manila for a rerun from Jan. 30 to Feb. 3 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of RCBC Plaza in Makati City for nine shows only.

After sold-out houses during the first season in Manila last August, Potted Potter takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into 70 hilarious minutes.

This fantastically funny show features all your favorite characters, a special appearance from a fire-breathing dragon, endless costumes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic!

Double Olivier Award Best Entertainment nominees Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner first created Potted Potter in 2005 for an appearance at a London bookshop, as a five-minute entertainment for fans awaiting the release of the sixth book in the series. The show grew from there into a full-length stage production, first seen at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006, and has since toured internationally.

The production members have spread their charm and easily gained popularity from Filipino “Potterheads” and non-Potter fans when they visited Manila for their first stop of the world tour. Almost 22,000 fans are currently subscribed to the Potted Potter Manila Facebook page, which still continues to grow.

Producer James Cundall, chief executive of Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, said, “With an utterly great reception of the audiences, we did not have second thoughts on bringing back the show in Manila.”

The big come-back of the comic duo, Jesse Briton and Gary Trainor, will cap off their worldwide tour here in Manila.

(Potted Potter in Manila is produced by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, Potted Productions, Concertus Manila and Hi-Definition Radio. For ticket information, call Ticketworld at 891-9999.)
