Destined for each other

Like most couples who find each other through common friends, sweethearts Joel Lim and Eileen Lee met during a get-together in 2005. He was instantly captivated by her sweet smile and feminine charm while she felt an unmistakable attraction to his gentlemanly ways, wit and good humor. Soon after, they went on several dates and eventually became a couple.

While they shared happy memories together, their relationship also had its challenges. The two separated for almost two years but as fate had it, the lovers reconciled and became inseparable. When Joel’s family took a holiday vacation in Paris, he realized that he would not miss the chance of traveling the world without Eileen. After a six-year courtship, Joel, dashing son of lovely lawyer Gilda Lim, and Eileen, charming daughter of Maria and Eusebio Lee, finally tied the knot before family and friends who gathered at the Manila Polo Club.

The beautiful couple and the wedding entourage were clad in exquisite creations by Philip Salud of Leonard Co. The sweethearts proclaimed their love for each other and vowed to live together for the rest of their lives during the matrimonial ceremony officiated by pastor Art Handog. The affair was highlighted with the couple’s romantic wedding dance as well as Gilda and Jacqueline Michelle’s endearing musical performance.

Congratulations Joel and Eileen! May you enjoy wedded bliss and be blessed as you start your new life together!

Meaningful ways to celebrate a milestone

The Catholic Women’s Club (CWC), a laudable service organization founded in 1921, has been committed in fulfilling its vision to help the poor through continuous caring and sharing. This year, CWC, spearheaded by hardworking president Mimi Valerio and dedicated event chairman Nonie Basilio, marks its 90th anniversary with a series of meaningful activities for the whole year. Members and friends of the organization are all invited to support the organization’s upcoming events: the Extravaganza 2011, a spectacular dinner-dance on Sept. 3, 6:30 p.m. at Makati Shangri-La Hotel; Casa y Jardin Bazaars on Oct. 9 and 16 at the Hotel InterContinental; and the “Clothes for a Cause” rummage sale on Nov. 18 to 21 at the Glorietta Activity Center. See you there!
