Having fun with Swatch

Swatch continues to celebrate fashion, sports and the arts in style. An invitation to a Swatch event ensures you the most recent updates about the latest fashion trends and technology in the watch business, great food and wine, and the company of new and familiar faces.

Featured here are two of the many recent Swatch parties. The Swatch + Art Attack at the Swatch Interactive Billboard @ GB5 showcased an impressive rare collection of Swatch watches by world-renowned designers and artists complemented by the personal Philippine art collection of Sari Ortiga. Among the most outstanding pieces on exhibit were sculpture from architect Lor Calma and one of my favorite artists, Anita Magsaysay-Ho.

The other Swatch event was the birthday party of actor, ultimate frisbee player and Swatch endorser Derek Ramsay at Lusso in Greenbelt 5. Derek’s 100 guests from the entertainment, fashion, business, arts and media world played games, won Derek Dollars and Swatch loot bags. Swatch Philippines president Virgie Ramos, fondly called “Tita Virgie” by many, played host for both events.

Derek’s party had a sumptuous dinner buffet in the front garden of Lusso prepared by Gaita Fores. I ate so many of those delicious appetizers of truffled potato chips, lobster sandwiches and mini burgers that I was hardly able to eat the buffet, which included lechon, roast beef, salads, different types of pasta and desserts!

Anne Curtis.

Some of us also checked out the Swatch store in Greenbelt 5 after dinner to check the latest Swatch watches and Swatch Bijoux (jewelry) collection.

Others spotted in Derek’s birthday were Joji Dingcong, Patrick Rosas, Myrza Sison with husband Andre Wisniewski and Swatch COO James Locsin.

Looking forward to many more Swatch celebrations this year!
