The much-awaited Soiree Beaujolais 2010, the grandest and most prestigious wine festival in the world, was recently celebrated in the Queen City of the South! The French Chamber of Commerce (FCC) in the Philippines, in partnership with the five-star Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), under the helm of genial GM Hans Hauri, hosted the festive Soiree Beaujolais celebration. Undeniably the city’s most important and glittering social event held at the hotel’s opulent Grand Ballroom, the affair featured the ceremonial uncorking of the Le Beaujolais Nouveau led by guests of honor such as French Embassy’s Dominique Lebastard, Le Club president Didier Chalumeau, Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia and Marco Polo Davao GM Nigel Fischer.
The country’s elite crowd thoroughly enjoyed the elegant affair — sampling the traditional crepes and galettes from the Brittany region prepared by crepe master, French chef Philippe Estienne, and savoring the premium, fine wines perfectly paired with various cheeses by cheese master Richard Poirier.
Guests were also treated to a special program emceed by Cebu’s top celebrity host Jude Bacalso. The program was filled with superb entertainment from the French Troubadours who flew in all the way from Brittany just for the occasion as well as scintillating performances by sultry singer Verni Varga, the lovely Jacqueline Schubert and the Renaissance Band.
Congratulations to the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu for another fantastic event! See you next year!
Keeping the sparkle
Jewelry is and should always be considered the highest symbol of love, success, royalty and art, and this entails the jeweler to craft each piece perfectly. With the vision of offering the finest, high-quality pieces of jewelry and sharing the passion for these beautiful gifts of nature, the dynamic Florencio family recently launched its latest creations at the mezzanine of Makati Shangri-La with precious contributions coming from the lovely socialite and businesswoman Allana Montelibano. It was one elegant affair as special guests were treated to smooth, sparkling champagnes and delectable canapés while marveling at the lustrous T.Florencio gems at the exhibit. Gracing the event were Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson, 2010 Best Dressed awardee Happy Ongpauco Tiu and concert queen Pops Fernandez. Congratulations!
