Ferragamo turns 80!

Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI), in cooperation with Citibank, celebrated the 80th anniversary of Italian brand Salvatore Ferragamo with a fashion show consisting of its complete Fall/Winter 2008 collection of clothes and accessories.

SSI’s EVP Anton Huang, Citibank’s country business manager Mark Jones and Salvatore Ferragamo regional executive director Christian Foddis welcomed guests to an evening that started with the official turnover of a P2-million check donation to the Philippine National Red Cross represented by chairman of the Blood Services Committee Rosa Rosal.

The Fall/Winter 2008 collection of Ferragamo featured more youthful, sexy and modern pieces for women’s wear. Sleek trousers and fluid cuts dominate the runway. Among the ladies accessories highlighted were bags in metallic leather and dark-red patent leather. For men, Ferragamo presented a collection of tailored suits, jackets, long coats and knitted cardigans in dark hues of blue and black. Men’s accessories included luggage in black nappa leather for work and nylon messenger bags for day.

Clients of Citigold, Citibank’s wealth management banking service, were welcomed by the Citigold team led by wealth management director Judith Go.

Hors d’ oeuvres were served together with overflowing wine and liquor from Ralph’s Wines & Spirits. In the Philippines, Salvatore Ferragamo is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is available at Greenbelt 3, Alabang Town Center and Rustan’s Makati.

Urban street style

Metallics, plaids and checks, layered outfits and monochromatic colors set the stage for Folded and Hung (F&H) as it celebrated its 10th year anniversary with Streetcast Act 2 led by F&H president Ronald Pineda.

Most of the crowd was clad in fashionable black at A. Venue and Events Hall where guests witnessed the Folded and Hung Holiday 2008 Street Collection. The style combines the practical and urban aspects of street style with the richness and flair of party-appropriate ensembles. The hues are blue, brown and black. Figure-flattering and easy-to-wear toga dresses and draped frocks made of lightweight jersey and twill, along with tunics, jackets, and waistcoats comprised the women’s line. For the men graphic tees, plaid and checkered shirts were snug and the hoodie jackets in French terry cloth were much applauded.

 The “Holiday Romance Collection” of Ivar Aseron and Folded and Hung is inspired by dark romance with black and metal gray as its key tones. Aseron showcases his penchant for geometric lines and shapes subtly creating a sensual and edgy look.
