During summer, we often rack our brains trying to figure out where it would be best to take the whole family, especially one made up of three generations with ages ranging from seven to 65 years old. Most of us fail to see that the solution to this problem is actually quite simple. Anything and everything one would want from a vacation for all members of the family can be found in The Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.
With the cooperation of the dynamic Plantation Bay GM Efren Belarmino, I brought a group of 15, comprising three generations, to several of the many activity centers of the resort. The breathtaking Lagoons, that lie in the center of this Cebu resort and surrounded by the different building clusters that house the guests, are where the whole family can enjoy water activities like swimming (in either freshwater or saltwater pools) and kayaking at leisure or even racing with your buddies. The resort also boasts of a diving rock with heights reaching up to 20 feet for the braver or fearless members of the group and giant water slides to thrill all. There is also the Galapagos Beach, with its white sand and calming atmosphere, where one can just sit back and enjoy the beach’s natural surroundings or take delight in water sports and activities like scuba diving or, for the more passive swimmers, snorkeling among some of the most magnificent tropical fish. Also available are parasailing for the daring members of the group and jet skiing for those seeking adrenaline rush — and, for the lovers (like me?!), an intimate rendezvous at Lover’s Rock or a romantic Sunset Cruise.
We also spent a lot of time at Savannah Park, which offered a wide selection of activities like shooting at the firing range with a variety of firearms, wall-climbing, archery, tennis, a pitch and putt area and a children’s playground.
For the after-hours, the whole group enjoyed a Karaoke night at the Savannah Grill and Lounge, belting out each one’s favorite song choices from the lounge’s extensive selection. The Gym and Game Room were also a favorite hangout for the figure conscious as they had the benefit of working out in only the best exercise equipment. The young ones especially enjoyed the ping pong tables, air hockey, foosball, dartboards, Playstation 2 and Nintendo Wii.
It was truly an escape from reality and a superb way to spend a family vacation. Such a getaway could only be found at The Plantation Bay Resort and Spa.
See you there soon!
Strengthening cultural ties
Just recently, the Philippine-Italian Association (PIA) celebrated its 46th anniversary and second general membership gathering for the year 2008 aboard the historical Italian luxury cruise ship Costa Allegra. The prestigious event was graced with the presence of PIA honorary chairman Ambassador Rubens Anna Fedele of the Italian Embassy and his stunning wife Cosetta Cassin Fedele as well as the founder and now secretary general of the PIA Lina Paolini Lorenzo and PIA president Nedy Tantoco. The PIA has successfully strengthened the ties of both countries in the past 46 years and is optimistic about its numerous upcoming projects.
Congratulations!
