A night of Nobel and nobility

Professor Finn Erling Kydland, the 2004 Nobel Laureate for Economics, was recently honored at a President’s Night hosted by BMW Philippines president Andreas Biehler. The prestigious event took place at the Tivoli restaurant of multi-Kalakbay awardee Mandarin Oriental Hotel. BMW’s support for the Bridges: Dialogues Towards a Culture of Peace was highlighted during the event as part of the event series initiated by the Vienna-based International Peace Foundation and the reason for Professor Kydland’s visit. Manila’s most glamorous attended the event including Consuls Louie and Mellie Ablaza, Star EVP Grace Glory Go and Phinma chairman and CEO Oscar Hilado. The event was truly a success.

Congratulations!

A thanksgiving party

Just recently, the illustrious Angola Consul Helen Ong welcomed close friends and associates to a thanksgiving party in her lavish abode as she showed her appreciation for their contributions to her ever-growing charities. The gracious philanthropist gave a heartwarming speech about how she has been so thankful for those who aided in her causes. The occasion also served as a bon voyage for Ambassador U Thaung Tun of Myanmar, a welcoming for Ambassador Jan de Kok of EU and a congratulatory party for newly-wed Ambassador Christian Ludwig Waber Lortsch from Germany.  Guests enjoyed a scrumptious meal provided by the Makati Skyline.

It was a truly enjoyable evening. Cheers!

Brimming with love

A lovely wedding ceremony was held at the Manila Cathedral for Jerome de Guzman and Chermaine Cuasay exactly a decade after they casually met at a community project organized by the bride’s mother, Celia Cuasay. Francisco Cuasay, the bride’s father as well as the groom’s parents, Dr. Pedro de Guzman and Sylvia Lingad-De Guzman, joyfully watched as their children exchanged their vows. After the ceremony, the couple and their multitude of guests celebrated their union at a marvelous reception in the Sofitel’s Sunset Pavilion by the Manila Bay. It was a truly beautiful occasion of love and happiness.

Congratulations, Jerome and Chermaine!

Flower power

Just recently, Minerva Tanseco and a group of her closest friends paid a visit to the annual Panagbenga Flower Festival in Baguio. Thousands flooded the street on flower floats while others danced in the most fabulous colorful costumes layered with beautiful blooms. It was a truly amazing experience.

Cheers!
