Humble yet uplifting

In support of our future doctors and artists, the J. Moreno Foundation recently handed over scholarship grants for the second semester to this year’s batch of deserving students taking up Medicine, Fine Arts and Agriculture at the University of the Philippines. Papal awardee and renowned philanthropist Imelda Cojuangco, founding chairman of the foundation, and Asia’s Fashion Czar Jose “Pitoy” Moreno led the humble yet uplifting ceremony held at the penthouse of brilliant businessman and designer Gerry Contreras.

Congratulations!

All about Rupert’s ‘Nieuw’ art

A glittering cocktail reception opened up dapper Rupert Jacinto’s art exhibit recently at the St. Francis Shangri-La Place. Dubbed as Images: Tokyo and Nieuw Art, the exhibit showcased Jacinto’s mastery of mixed media artwork, combining photography, computer graphics on canvas and acrylic painting for an amalgamation of sheer beauty.

Gracing the event were Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, Japanese Ambassador Ryu Yamazaki, Eimee Cragun, Divine Lee, Sandie Poblador, Marivic Madrigal Vazquez, Andy Bautista and David Lim.

Keeping fit at Aeternum

At the end of the day, keeping yourself fit and healthy is what really all that matters. This is why health buffs, Asian art of wellness enthusiasts and weekend exercise warriors of all ages recently trooped to the Aeternum Columbary grounds at The Fort in Taguig. Everybody had a field day when they attended an interactive Qi-gong and Tai-chi workshops conducted by Saar Herman, one of the leading practitioners of Qi-gong in the world who holds a degree in Therapeutic Qi-gong and Traditional Chinese medicine from the Beijing University of Physical Education. Aside from the workshops, attendees were also given a short lecture, including a question and answer forum, led by health and wellness expert Susan Saulog. There was also a private booth where participants had a foot spa or massage — free of charge!

See you all again at the Aeternum!
