Rustan’s, the country’s premier luxury department store, continues to set the trend for innovative ways to showcase its plethora of top name brands in cosmetics and fragrances. The recent workshop series featured Laura Mercier, Nars, La Prairie and many more with society’s glamorous and sought-after ladies who mentioned that they have at least one product brand for their makeup or fragrance preference — Chanel.

Two pampering workshops featuring Chanel were hosted by top educator Jojo Zabarte at the Rustan’s Gateway and charming mother-daughter duo of Baby and Jenna de Jesus and FINEX’s super savvy Grace Tiongco at the Essences in Makati.

Friends and guests at both venues indulged in the luxury brand’s latest skincare, makeup and fragrances. Rustan’s Essenses’ hard-working Toni Abad together with Chanel’s brand manager Tanya Reyes-Juliano with top makeup artists demonstrated innovative ways of using the wide variety of makeup colors and products such as the brand new favorite – the three-in-one makeup product that can be used as a lipstick, eye shadow or blusher.

‘It’s my life’

Among the teen artists of today, the talented and pretty Tara Tambunting definitely stands out. The daughter of Joselita and lawyer Victoria Tambunting recently had her first major concert at the Music Museum in Greenhills entitled Tara: It’s My Life.

The concert, presented by architect Gerry Contreras, was a major success. Tickets were sold out. Proceeds of the show went to the Bantay Bata Foundation. The vivacious youngster is often seen alongside her equally chic socialite grand-aunt Tereret Liboro, who also happens to be one of her biggest fans.

Housemates at Boracay Regency

The hottest reality TV show to hit the Philippines, Pinoy Big Brother, made the Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Convention Center as their home during their stay in the island paradise. The housemates immensely enjoyed the standard Boracay Regency warmth and hospitality, instilled in the staff by Boracay Regency chairman and president Henry Chusuey. The housemates had a great time enjoying a splash by the pool or a hearty meal at Regency’s Café Christina. Efficient assistant GM Jade Estardo was only too glad to welcome the rowdy bunch as she is a great Pinoy Big Brother fan. Boracay Regency is truly the home of the stars!

A delicious opening

Young entrepreneurs Jet Reyes, Migs Camacho and Carmela Sison recently opened a Reyes Barbecue Stall at SM Megamall in Ortigas Center. The stall blessing was graced by Rep. Benhur Abalos and basketball players James Yap, Paul Artadi and Mick Penisi.

With the delectable barbecue recipes of Reyes Barbecue, the stall is sure to attract droves of diners! An intimate and degustacion dinner was tendered for Bodegas Ramon Bilbao’s Javier Rozas during his recent visit to the country. Bestworld Beverage Brands’ Edna Diaz hosted this delightful affair at the residence of Señor Jose Miguel Cortez, Spanish commercial director in the Philippines to introduce the best of from the Spanish region of Rioja. Highlighting this merry gathering is an exciting array of select wines from Bodegas Ramon Bilbao.
