A one-of-a-kind evening

What is it like to bear the name Madrigal? Your columnist has always been intrigued by the privileges and responsibilities that come with having such a prominent lineage. It was thus with great joy and jubilation that I co-hosted with PLDT chairman Manny Pangilinan a luxurious dinner at the grand residence of Manila societys grand dame, Chito Madrigal-Collantes.
The specially-prepared dinner for persons of privilege was organized by SMART Infinity, the Philippines most premium cellular service. The occasion celebrated lifes best rewards, such as the new SMART Infinity Plan made exclusively for the most discerning of customers. This distinctive plan that gives exceptional value comes with first-rate features such as VIP Customer Service, premium phone packages, exclusive privileges, invitations to SMART Infinity events, customized value-added services and special rate plans.
Chito was garbed in an enchanting blue number that matched the events motif. The SMART team arrived in full force and joined her in the revelry, led by Manny Pangilinan. SMART Personal Communications Mobile Services Division head Boy Martirez; Corporate Business Group head Julie Carceller; Postpaid Marketing head Jon-Jon San Agustin; and Infinity product manager Tom Valderrama graciously welcomed special guests. Among those who attended the illustrious get-together were such VIPs as Mel Meer of Bergamo; Antel chairman Elena Jao; Joey Santos; Sultan Andy de Rossi; Jaime Laya; Lulu Tan Gan; and Oscar de Venecia. The dinner lasted well into the night, as impeccable culinary creations by Le Souffle, wines and pleasant exchanges flowed non-stop.
Cheers to Chito and SMART!
Another honor was bestowed upon former president of the Consular Corps of the Philippines and businessman Oscar de Venecia when he was conferred the rank of Chevalier Dans L Ordre National Du Merite at French Ambassador Renee Veyrets residence.
Debonair Oscar beamed with happiness and pride when he received the award from Ambassador Renee Veyret, who presented the award on behalf of the French government. He received the award for his tireless work in bringing Filipino and French businesses closer.
Guests from the diplomatic and business circles witnessed the presentation of the award. The men looked dapper in their suits while the ladies were elegantly wrapped in luxurious garments. Everyone enjoyed the fine wine that was served and they celebrated the honor bestowed upon Oscar.
Congratulations and keep up the good work, Oscar!
