Sison and peace talks resumption

“Playing hard to get.” This is what Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison is acting right now on the issue of possible resumption of peace talks between the government and the NDFP.

Sison’s allegations toward the government’s precondition on peace talks is a repercussion of his excuses and hallucinations. According to Joma Sison, NDFP has been proposing “goodwill measures” including reciprocal unilateral ceasefire and the release of sickly and elderly political prisoners. But the truth is, Joma’s “goodwill measures” are just an excuse for the rebels to strengthen their group through continues ambushes of government forces and the time for them to boost their recruitment.

And why release sick and elderly political prisoners when they are properly cared for by our government hospitals? Imagine cancellation of at least 40 rounds of talks from the NDFP, it’s a waste of time.

If Sison really wants peace for NDFP and for the revolutionary forces, then there is no reason for playing hard to get because at the end of the day a good leader has the integrity and goodwill for his members.
