ConCom proposal clarified

May I clarify the news item entitled, “ConCom proposes reelection for Rody under federal setup,” found on page 5 of your prestigious newspaper, the Philippine STAR, of June 14.

Its contents, among other things, in effect, attribute to me the assertion that the Constitutional Committee to revise the Constitution, adopted a proposal to allow the incumbent President the right to run again for reelection.

What the ConCom is actually recommending is for the President – under the new Constitution – to have a four-year term with right to one reelection.
