Lim left P1.5 B

This refers to the news item appearing on page 13 of your issue of The Philippine STAR today (July 30) titled “Presidency or reelection? Erap still undecided” reporting on his so-called SOCA where he harangued his audience that the previous administration of Mayor Alfredo S. Lim left only P235 million in funds.

His statement is outrageously false because, contrary to his claim that Mayor Lim left only P235 million in funds on June 30, 2013, the total amount that Mayor Lim left when he set out of City Hall in June 2013 was P1.5 billion. No less than Ms. Liberty Toledo, the anointed Treasurer of Mayor Estrada, attests that she received from the former treasurer P1.5 billion in funds. This is borne by her written acknowledgment of receiving the funds turned over by the former treasurer.

Unless this falsehood is appropriately rectified in your morning daily, the many readers  of your newspaper might be misled to believe the falsity peddled by Mr. Estrada.
