BBL still on track

The Philippine Star

Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Deles is right when she said the Bangsamoro Basic Law or BBL is on track. The delay almost alarmed the MILF leadership but the government, sincere in its efforts to hasten the process, has finally submitted the Bangsamoro Draft Law  to President Aquino for his review. Furthermore, Congress and the House of Representatives are both willing to work overtime for the immediate passage of BBL.

The MILF must feel relieved knowing the government will not let it down, and to be true to its promise of achieving peace and development for Moroland. To make the exercise more substantial, the government and the MILF agreed to meet again after the President’s review and certified as urgent. The BBL’s passed again such action on both sides shown a harmonious work relationship.

The drafting of the BBL is no joke and all matters pertaining to the draft must be weighed, and which to my mind, both panels have agreed upon and reached an overwhelming consensus. “No pain, no gain,” is always attached and equivalent to hard work and sacrifice.  Soon, brighter prospects for Mindanao are in the offing. Mindanaoans and the rest of us are waiting for a wonderful day when there is no more fighting and bloodshed which has ravaged Mindanao for hundreds of years. – Eloisa V.
