Pillar of military education

The Philippine Star

Last April 1, 2014, young men and women, new plebes entered the Philippine Military Academy in Fort Del Pilar, Baguio City to start their military training.  Some of them will make it while some, we hope not, will fail, not mainly because of the physical aspect of the training, but perhaps academics and other related reasons.

The PMA has been bashed time and again, but it remains a pillar of learning, an institution which has not only produced exceptional men and women, but soldiers who have given up their lives, early in their career, to defend our country.  There are also PMA graduates in the police force which have given honor and distinction to the service.  We have also lawmakers and leaders who likewise given prestige themselves in the government and helped shaped our nation’s destiny.

We all know that the Philippine Military Academy will continue to mold and build the next generation of leaders who will carry on. – Mico B. Bareras, Consuelo Apts, Bauang,  La Union
