C-130s are still serviceable

Jose Manuel Villanueva, Vintar Road, Laoag City - The Philippine Star

Some critics in the midst of the devastating earthquake in Bohol, and in the middle of relief operations, say that the nation’s C-130 cargo planes are unserviceable and may bog down anytime, especially so that relief cargoes are heavy.

How can critics say these, when they only could be watching in the sidelines, safe and comfortable in their places. Instead of saying these C-130s are unreliable, they could have thanked PAF pilots who risk their lives for bringing help to affected victims, praise them for their simple acts of heroism and kindness, to lift the spirits of the victims, and help them cope.

I know that the Lord will not allow these C-130s to crash while delivering important relief goods especially food and water. God is just and He will always help us survive. If we have faith in God, we should have faith in our government, in our armed forces. And we should be content with what we have. If these C-130s seem old and creaky, they still perform well, and are instruments in bringing not only relief goods, but also hope, that things will get better.
