More funds for AFP

- Mariano Espino, Pasig City -

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) gets P4.7 billion from camps’ conversion through the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). As an ordinary working citizen I take this as positive news not only for the military but for all of us who are somehow contributing to the advancement of the Armed Forces. This really means that the military can improve more or enhance their capabilities through military hardware modernization. As part of this, we can see that the AFP is being more transparent with the acquired funds thus we know now where and what’s happening to the money.

In our company, we give importance to advanced materials and equipment because we know that the employees can work well, improve their skills and produce better products. In the military they can better perform their duties and mandates if they are equipped with modern hardware especially those things that are essential in their missions/operations.

Now, I am hoping that the government will focus and give emphasis in modernizing the Armed Forces, to procure more equipment. We truly believe on the integrity and competence of the AFP and I am looking forward to a strong and well-equipped Armed Forces that will better serve and protect the nation.
