Entertaining
MANILA, Philippines - I don’t understand why some people are connecting the whole Judiciary to the legal proceedings of the impeachment of Chief Justice Renato Corona as though the impeachment is an affront to the Judiciary or Supreme Court. In fact it’s the other way around.
It is refreshing to know that our politicians and government officials are now coming alive from their indifference to the reality of the bad situation in Supreme Court and Judiciary that is caused by the injustices, biases, arrogance and corruption of the magistrates in the courts of law especially Corona and the other appointed justices and judges of former President Gloria Arroyo.
The sight of Mr. Corona’s hakot supporters staging rallies in front of government offices to protest the impeachment is entertaining. Why don’t they protest against the many bad bananas in their own backyards, the judges, lawyers, fixers, bar members, etc. Many of us in the same offices are just laughing at those in the rally because we know that the impeachment of Mr. Corona is a step in the right direction for our politicians to make. But why don’t they include the other remaining Arroyo appointees and then afterwards let the new Supreme Court Chief Justice and associate justices be voted by the people through referendum in order that impartial decisions in court cases can be assured. President Noynoy Aquino should have no hand in appointing them.
