Thoughts to guide us by (For July 2010)

MANILA, Philippines - Hail to the Filipinos! Hail to our Chief, President P-Noy, and Vice-President V-Nay! The Filipinos’ national optimism and enthusiastic outlook for the country’s future is felt everywhere. There is rustle of euphoria and surging hope in the air! When people know their leaders are righteous — they rejoice as they come together towards their unified goals, for as P-Noy stated: “Filipinos are destined to better lives!”

Filipinos are very self-sacrificing-patient-to-a-fault people, pliant as a bamboo. However, when their oft-mistaken-as-approval silence is pushed to the hilt, they react, though much belatedly, and can be defiant. Graciously and gratefully they reward honest and truthful leaders — with love, respect and unstinting support … even beyond their lifetime.

Nothing in this world is more endearing and gratifying than having the trust and respect of the people. They are the hallmark of a revered and loved leader — an admirable, enviable niche in history that lives on and on — defying time and space.

Men do not live by power and wealth alone! We all crave for love and appreciation, and a positive legacy. May our newly-installed government servants constantly remember that: To serve the Filipinos, their masters, is to serve Our Creator. Serve them BEST, and you serve God BEST!
