Plant a tree and help combat global warming

MANILA, Philippines - For the country’s sake, President Noynoy Aquino must not fail. For President Noynoy to succeed, every Filipino must do his share to help in the endeavor. As Kennedy said, “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”

President Noynoy is committed to “slay the dragon of corruption”. Let’s all begin by living as righteously as we can with regards to battling corruption in our own simple way. Avoid abetting corruption and do not countenance corruption by others in any form. In fact, report immediately corruption that you became aware of to the proper agency of the government (hopefully President Noynoy will create such an office).

Thereafter, with all due respect, the slogan, “Sa ikauunlad ng bayan, disiplina ang kailangan” rings true today, more than ever. Indeed, if only we all could abide with the traffic rules, disposal of garbage, cleanliness of our neighborhood, etc., it can already make a big difference.

Finally, each of us should personally engage in a developmental activity, which can contribute to nation building in the field of endeavor or advocacy of our choice and expertise. There are countless ways.
