Widow robbed?

-

MANILA, Philippines - I am a pensioner and widow of the late veteran Agustin S. Cruz, receiving my pension through the Philippine Veterans Bank, Gagalangin Branch, Tondo, Manila under Account No. 00052421496100 with a balance amount of P246,248.25 according to the bank. Unfortunately when I checked with the bank, I was advised that the money was returned to PVAO, as reflected under a letter from Mr. Heriberto L. Ruanto, dated Sept. 18, 2009.

When I checked with Mr. Ruanto, I was advised that he already paid the amount to somebody who has the same name as I have, hence I am left holding an empty bag. What happened to my bank deposit in my own name at the Bank of Gagalangin, Tondo, Manila? I have been directed to several persons either in the PVAO or the Veterans Bank and nothing concrete transpired and in fact has beclouded what I want to clarify — where can I withdraw the P246,248.25?

I have attached hereto pertinent letters which may help you addressed the issue once and for all. I am already in my 80s and you know how much of a trouble it is to be directed from one office to another and get nothing at the end of the day. I have also furnished copy of this letter to some newspaper offices so that something may be done to solve the problem once and for all. — MRS. NARCISA B. CRUZ, Tinajeros, Malabon
