UAP supports National Artist Award for Manosa

-

MANILA, Philippines -The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) is the integrated and accredited professional organization of architects in the Philippines, with 9,000 active members, comprising 118 chapters nationwide.

Duly represented by its officers and members of the National Board of Directors, whose signatures are affixed below, the UAP expresses full support in the decision to grant the National Artist Award in the field of Architecture to: Architect FRANCISCO “BOBBY” T. MANOSA.

Architect Mañosa has previously been endorsed by the UAP to the award-giving body, and we maintain that in all his years of practice, he has successfully instilled in the Filipino architect the pride of true Philippine Architecture and infused Filipino culture into the facades and spaces of the numerous structures he completed, both here and abroad. He has unselfishly shared his nationalistic thoughts and aspirations in architecture to the Filipino youth through countless lectures and talks to students and future architects, and has given inspiration to his peers and valuable insights to the general public. In 2003, for his distinct contribution to the profession, the UAP bestowed on him the highest award that the organization can grant to one of its members, the LIKHA and gold medal award of excellence.

On this 15th day of August 2009, we, the officers and members of the UAP National Board, hereby affix our signatures in Quezon City, Philippines. ANA S. MANGALINO-LING, FUAP, APEC Architect, National President
