Scientific name: Indigo-fera erectifructa Y. Endo, H. Ohashi & Madulid

Family: Leguminosae

Distribution:. Bontoc, Mt. Province; Mayaoyao, Ifugao. Endemic.

Description: Shrubs to about 3 m tall. Leaves pinnate, 10 -12 cm long, with 15 to 19 leaflets per leaf. Leaflets elliptic or oval, stipules linear. Inflorescence 12-14 cm long, with 50 to 80 flowers. Flower pink or reddish pink. Po about 3.5 cm long, erect, curved adaxially.

Conservation Notes: This endemic legume grows in open fields and along roadsides in the Bontoc-Banawe road and near the woodlots in Mayaoyao, Ifu-gao where it is rather sporadic but not so common. It has no known local use. The population is confined to high mountains at altitude from 1,000 m to 1,300 m. It is not known to occur elsewhere. The plant has attractive inflorescence and is of ornamental potential. So far there is no record of this plant being cultivated in gardens.
