European Higher Education Fair 2015 opens November 7 in Manila

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Catch up with the best higher education institutions in the European Union!

The Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines, together with the EU member states’ embassies and cultural institutes, and in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), brought back the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) with the theme “Quality. Mobility. Innovation.”

Twenty-seven European higher education institutions from Belgium, Denmark, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom offering enrollment opportunities for master’s and Ph.D. programs  will be participating in the fair on Nov. 7 from 12:30 to 6  p.m.  at Dusit Thani Hotel.

The main goal of the fair is to give Filipino students the chance to find out the endless opportunities offered by European universities and get immediate and direct answers from their representatives who have travelled all the way from Europe.

Recognizing that boosting one’s language proficiency could be vital when studying abroad, the five biggest EU cultural institutes — Goethe-Institut Philippinen, Alliance Française de Manille, Instituto Cervantes de Manila, Istituto Dante Alighieri and the Philippine Italian Association — will  also have their booths this year.

Mattias Lentz, chargé d‘affaires a.i. of the EU Delegation to the Philippines said, “The European Higher Education Fair 2015 is an opportunity for Filipinos to pursue their higher education programs in the European Union, which is one of the best higher education destinations in the world today.”

“The European Union can offer the excellent mix of diversity and quality of higher education institutions as it tries to harmonize the wisdom of the past and the charm and cutting-edge technology of today’s seats of learning,” Lentz added.

EHEF Philippines 2015 includes lectures on the European educational system and way of life to prepare applicants who aspire to enroll in any of the participating educational institutions.

Opening the exhibit are The EU ambassadors, education and cultural counsellors to the Philippines as well as officials from Philippine higher education institutions.

Filipino Erasmus Mundus alumni led by Kate Ramil, country representative of the Erasmus Mundus Association-Philippines and several other institutions will show during the fair country presentations about the Erasmus+ scholarship and mobility program and study opportunities in Europe.

Partners of the European Higher Education Fair 2015  include philstar.com, ANC and Business Mirror.

Admission to the EHEF is free. Students, academicians, researchers and faculty may either pre-register at http://www.EHEFPhilippines.org or walk in during the fair proper at the hotel venue.
