Globe, UP students collaborate to promote sound investor relations
MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom and the UP Junior Finance Association recently signed a partnership to promote the first ever Intercollegiate Valuation and Strategies Competition (UP JFA INVST), a national research and valuation competition open to tertiary students from the country’s top business schools. Globe hopes that supporting the competition would further promote the telecommunication company’s sound investor relations.
More than just a competition, UP JFA INVST is an exciting opportunity for students to gain real hands-on training in financial analysis while also learning more about corporate investments.
Through the course of the competition, participants will receive mentorship from industry professionals as they analyze the subject company, write a professional research report and present their research results and recommendations to a panel of experts which include the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society of the Philippines and the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
As a partner of UP JFA, Globe will be the subject company of the investment challenge which means that the competition case will revolve around Globe, allowing students to perform stock analyses from which they are to draw forecast and recommendations.
UP JFA is a non-stock, non-profit academic organization in the Virata School of Business, formerly the College of Business Administration, in the University of the Philippines, Diliman. Now on its 47th year, UP JFA is committed in upholding its mission of promoting financial literacy among the youth.
