One of Asia’s best aviation schools continues program innovations

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Through the years WCC Aviation Co. continues to be recognized as one of the best aviation schools not just in the Philippines but in Asia.

Founder and licensed pilot Capt. Ramon Guico III’s passion for planes eventually became a profession, flying his first aircraft at the age of 23. Guico established WCC’s headquarters in Binalonan, Pangasinan in 2005, which put the town on the radar for aspiring pilots in the Philippines and in neighboring countries who are looking for excellent aviation education.

‘Plane and Simple’

With the commitment “Everyone can fly: Plane and Simple,” WCC transformed the town of Binalonan into a tourism magnet. By 2008, Binalonan Airfield was a fully equipped aviation training a flight servicing facility. WCC gained the distinction of being the only flying school to operate its own airfield, with an 850-meter runway capable of handling general aviation and mid-sized commercial aircraft.

The year 2008 proved to be groundbreaking for WCC as the school expanded its course offerings to respond to the needs of the flourishing airline industry. WCC Aeronautical and Technical College (Aerotech) was founded, offering airline-focused college courses complete with technical training. Aerotech, with two campuses found in Binalonan and Caloocan, is the only aviation school in Northern Luzon to offer courses such as BS Aviation Major in Commercial Flying and BS Aviation Major in Aviation Management, BS Aeronautical Engineering and BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology.

WCC also established a Flight Attendant School, offering an extensive course at their training centers in Binalonan and Quezon City.

Comprehensive aviation training institution

WCC’s Pilot Academy trains would-be pilots into industry leaders as they earn their degree in aviation major in commercial flying.

Students make use of WCC’s world-class facilities that include more than 35 trainer aircraft with three flight simulators and an Airbus 320 full flight simulator. Ground classes are held in Binalonan Airfield or at WCC’s Aviation hangar in Pasay City.

Students are also given more flight training through aircraft maintenance laboratories, workshops and short courses like the Multi-Crew Cooperation Course and the Jet Orientation Program that give them a competitive edge and help them land a job in prestigious airline companies.
