Students learn history at Big History campus tour

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Bringing its mind-boggling new series “Big History” through Metro Manila’s schools, colleges, and universities, HISTORY introduces another exciting and compelling way to learn about history.

Showing every Tuesday, with back-to-back episodes at 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Big History successfully and uniquely retells history as we know it, exploring 13.7 billion years of history through a new perspective, weaving different fields such as science, social studies, and the humanities, together, and interpreting this in a context more relatable to our present-day concerns.

Recently, the Big History campus tour presented students of Xavier school, College of Saint Benilde, and the University of Santo Tomas with an advanced screening of the show’s pilot episode, The Superpower of Salt, before it premiered to the public.

The compelling debut episode reveals how the salt on our dining tables has done more than make our food tastier. In fact, unbeknownst to many, it actually paved the way for trade, civilizations, and connections around the world.

Aside from the screening, students also participated in the Ultimate History Quiz session, where they were asked a range of series-related questions, as well as facts and general knowledge.

Winners were awarded exciting prizes and HISTORY goodie bags, and they also had the chance to take pictures at the HISTORY photo booth.
