Through educating, inspiring and empowering Filipino youths who dare to ride on their dreams, the International Cabin Attendant Training School (ICATS) has continued to make bold steps as an integral part of the country’s airline hospitality industry. This early, ICATS has trailblazed a whole-new level of learning and training to produce only the best, highly competent, and sought-after airline stewards and stewardesses.
Now in its fourth soaring year and with 89 successful graduates, the premier flight attendant school continues to build upon its tradition of excellence, marking its milestones as well as expanding its wings with fortified academic programs that will ensure the success of another batch of youth eager to conquer the skies.
ICATS CEO Princess Joy Garcia is definitely the most thrilled to witness and eventually become part of a dynamic airline hospitality team that has been successfully made a mark. Princess, whose same spirit of determination has allowed her to pursue her own dreams, is going into full time work not as a flight attendant, but as the leader to see to it that a “bigger, better, bolder†ICATS – now considered the top independent flying school in the metro --- will continue to soar high in the coming years.
“I am very determined and more inspired to ignite passion and perseverance among our students. I hope that I can become an inspiration to others -- that you can reach your dreams whatever it may be. And if you dream to literally reach the skies, ICATS is here to propel you and raise you up,†said Princess.
Since opening its doors in 2009, ICATS has become a formidable industry player, with proven track of successes as its graduates have landed careers in both local and international airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air, Air Phil Express, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Oman Air, Nas Air (a sister company of Saudi Arabian Airlines), Yemenia Airways and Air Asia.
With a curriculum based on standards set by international flight attendant schools, ICATS’ competitive courses include a five-module training with key subjects on personality development, aircraft familiarization, emergency situation and procedures, on board service and interview essentials. Add to that, hands-on training by qualified and competent instructors who are equipped with years of experience flying with major and prominent international airlines.
Apart from a curriculum and a groundbreaking 30-40 day intensive course, ICATS also help graduates in their transition from flight school student to professional airline personnel. ICATS offers alumni a job assistance program, and this, according to Princess, goes beyond the usual process.
“As a potential new hire, starting a career in a very competitive industry is a tough initial step to make. Which is why to give our graduates the upper hand, we provide them valuable insights with our interview training,†notes Princess.
“We assist them with strategic scheduling of their application, from one airline hiring to another (both international and local), meticulous preparation of their documents, rigorous mock interviews up to their grooming and make-up and enhancement even to their correct positioning at the hiring/ interview venue proper. These are what sets us apart,†she added.
