PSHS launches its 1st Samsung Smart Classroom

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Samsung proves their ability to customize education technology solutions by partnering up with the Department of Science and Technology’s Philippine Science High School (PSHS) – Main Campus. Together they have established the first Samsung SMART Classroom, helping bridge the gap between traditional teaching methods and technology-proficient students. In doing so, Samsung has firmly placed themselves in support of the Philippine Government’s thrust to maximize advances in information and communications technology, to improve the teaching and learning process in schools nationwide.

PSHS schools the country’s most gifted student-scientists, and largely focuses on developing their skills and knowledge in math, science and technology. With this partnership, Samsung manifests its commitment to the advancement of Philippine education by renovating and redesigning one of the PSHS – Main Campus’ classrooms, providing it with hardware and software, to create a fully digital and interactive learning environment. The Samsung Smart Classroom will enable teachers and students to collaborate in a more dynamic and modern setting while providing quick access to numerous educational tools for a greater learning experience.

The ribbon cutting of the Samsung Smart Classroom was conducted last Feb. 11, in the ASTB Hall, Philippine Science High School, Diliman Quezon City.

In attendance were Samsung Electronics Philippines, Corp.’s president and CEO, Chung Lyong Lee, Science and Technology Secretary Mario Montejo and Education Undersecretary Rizalino Rivera.

A brief demonstration of the Samsung Smart classroom will be conducted after the opening remarks and ceremonies, followed by a lunch hosted by PSHS.
