Ritmo develops music-based learning modules for kids

MANILA, Philippines - Ritmo Learning Lab has developed music-based learning modules for Filipino kids. “Joomajam” is a kid-tested, teacher-approved collection of educational Original Pilipino Music in bilingual format which is accompanied by a lesson plan with recommended activities and resources, said Minette Navarrete, Kickstart Ventures president. It has lessons like Colors (performed by singers Barbie and Julianne), Saving Money (The Dawn), and Making Friends (Itchyworms) and nine songs that can be played in English and Filipino for a total of 18 tracks. Ritmo, is one of the startup organizations being supported by Kickstart Ventures, Inc., an accelerator-incubator firm wholly-owned by Globe Telecom. “Our investment in Ritmo provides parents and teachers with contemporary learning content and channels for 3-7-year-olds: it is an investment in educating the next generation of Filipinos,” Navarrete said. JoomaJam’s music is sure to have a child singing, tapping and jumping along while learning about themselves, said Vin Dancel, RITMO co-founder. He said Ritmo will be working on the second volume for preschoolers and another for the rest of the K to 12 students.
