TESDA trainers undergo training program in Toyota school
MANILA, Philippines - Trainers from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the Philippines’ authority in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), successfully completed the Industry Immersion Training Program held at the Toyota Motor Philippines School of Technology (TMP Tech) in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
The seven trainers, all under TESDA’s National TVET Trainers Academy (NTTA), underwent the three-week-long program as part of the NTTA’s TVET Trainers Skills Upgrading Program. The industry immersion training program was conducted by seasoned instructors from Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) and was held at the newly-built, world-class TMP Tech facility.
During the program, the trainers were taught the Toyota technology, as well as special Toyota courses to broaden their knowledge on Toyota’s business practices and operations. This partnership between TMP Tech and TESDA aims to bolster the Philippine automotive industry as the tie-up seeks to produce more skilled technicians in the country. With the start of motorization, the TMP Tech-TESDA partnership will address the need to produce more highly-skilled technicians and provide employment opportunities for Filipinos, ultimately improving their quality of life.
