Angara to use P200M pork for e-libraries
MANILA, Philippines - Former Aurora congressman and now Sen. Juan Edgardo Angara intends to use his P200-million annual pork barrel allocation for education-related projects.
“My principal advocacy is education, so I will use the money to advance that advocacy,†he said in a chance interview.
He said he is planning to allocate funds for e-libraries that would have books for basic education and computers, and for school buildings.
“I will also allocate funds for medical assistance to the poor. They need it,†he said.
He noted that there are no controversies on the use of pork barrel funds for education-related projects and medical assistance.
