Escolarian educators appointed members of BPT

MANILA, Philippines - Two Centro Escolar University alumni educators, Dr. Rosita Navarro and Dr. Paz Lucido were recently appointed as new members of the Board for Professional Teachers.

The oath-taking was administered by Teresita Manzala, PRC Chair and witnessed by Commissioner Jennifer Jardin-Manalili at the PRC Conference Room in Manila.

Dr. Rosita Navarro replaced Dr. Faith Bachiller as chairperson of the board. She’s also the past president and chief academic officer of Centro Escolar University and is conferred as dean emeritus of the University. She was recently awarded with the 2012 Juran Medal for Quality in recognition of her achievements and for being an exponent of quality concepts and ideals and she is also the current chairman of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).

On the other hand, Dr. Paz Lucido is the president of the CEU Alumni Foundation, Inc. (CEU-AFI), and was the former dean of the CEU School of Education-Liberal Arts- Music-Social Work. Dr. Lucido also held the position as president of the Philippine Association for Teacher Education (PAFTE) has been known in the field of education for her contributions in research and lectures that focus on the principles of teaching and instructional technology and curriculum reform.
