MANILA, Philippines - CCA, Manila, the country’s pioneer and leader in culinary learning, has changed the lives of many people from all walks of life and transformed them into successful culinary professionals, restaurateurs and food entrepreneurs through its Kitchen Discovery Classes (KDC), a six-hour course that would eventually unravel a lifelong interest, if not passion, in the art of cooking, baking and food preparation. Following the call for a more engaging learning experience, a new reformatted KDC will not only captivate students but will also introduce them to the many career possibilities in the food, beverage and restaurant industry. Becoming a CCA chef has never been this delicious!
Michael So Cheng was one of the few young and gifted students who aspired to take the path of culinary greatness through the KDC. As a career shifter he began with a few steps and realized this was his calling at CCA and it guided him in the early stages of his aspiration. With discipline, humility and ambition, Michael is now a few months away from claiming his Diploma in Culinary Arts and Technology Management and the honorific “Chef†attached to his name. He also managed to travel to other countries and learn, while earning an award on the way. Michael also made CCA and the whole country proud when he bagged the Gold Medal in the Western Cuisine Hot Cooking (Professional) – Lamb Loin category at the 15th International Exhibition of Food & Drink, Hotel, Restaurant & Food Service Equipment, Supplies & Services (HOFEX) held early this May at the Hong Kong Convention Center. He wowed the judges with his lamb meat culinary masterpiece and bested formidable competitors from other countries.
