Toyota school for auto technicians to rise in Laguna

MANILA, Philippines - Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) will soon establish the Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation School of Technology, Inc. (TMP Tech) inside the Toyota Special Economic Zone in Santa Rosa, Laguna. The school is envisioned to produce globally-competent and highly-skilled automotive technicians for the Toyota Family both in the Philippines and abroad. In the long-term, TMP Tech is envisioned to become a human resources development hub to serve the regional/global Toyota network.

The school will make it possible for the economically-challenged Filipino youth to have access to quality education. TMP Tech will offer after-sales technician curriculum which is designed to exceed the existing Technical Education & Skills Development Authority’s (TESDA) Automotive Servicing National Certification IV. Students will have the unique experience of learning Toyota-specific technical and management courses that will help them understand and assimilate Toyota Way values, principles and practices.

As TMP Tech will open in 2013, the school fits perfectly into TMP’s Total Customer Satisfaction program, especially as the age of motorization starts. With the projected increase in demand for new vehicles, the school can produce more automotive technicians providing quality after-sales service to Toyota customers. Moreover, graduates of TMP Tech will have the opportunity to become highly-skilled Filipino workers for, not only the local, but also the global workforce.

TMP Tech is a testament to Toyota’s continued contribution to the further development of Philippine society through education, in addition to the many other philanthropic projects of Toyota.
