MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom, in partnership with the Ateneo Center for Continuing Education, recently launched two certificate/diploma leadership programs designed to strengthen the skills and behaviors of the company’s future leaders.
The Globe-Ateneo Empowering Leaders and Emerging Leaders programs are geared toward helping the company’s young leaders and middle managers understand and put into action Globe leadership competencies, providing them with the skill set to lead and transform the business in a fast changing and dynamic industry.
The Globe-Ateneo Empowering Leaders is a course for middle managers meant to hone their leadership competencies particularly in effectively communicating, influencing and implementing changes. The pilot class was held last Nov. 6 and was attended by 30 managers. The program will run for eight days covering eight consecutive weeks.
The Globe-Ateneo Emerging Leaders program on the other hand, is a 6-day course for the company’s young leaders. The pilot class ran over a 6-week period and culminated in September and was attended by 27 junior managers. The course provided various learning experiences around Globe Leadership Competencies. Theater-based exercises were developed allowing leaders to discover and enhance their interpersonal skills.
“Globe believes that every employee is a leader who can make change happen and be excited about his contribution at work,” says Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu.
“I was impressed with the young leaders’ commitment to Globe’s vision and the leadership competencies needed to fulfill it… At the Ateneo Center for Continuing Education, we take pride in customizing programs for our corporate partners to meet their specific needs,” says Jet Magsaysay, a professor at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business Center for Continuing Education.
