2nd EETA pays tribute anew to best practices and techniques in education

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Society develops and thrives with an educated citizenry. While most schools strive to bring the best education through various ways and means, some take it many notches higher and surpass their own expectations, creating not only a major positive difference in the lives of their students but also inspiring other institutions to follow their lead.

Bayan Academy, Rex Book Store and The Knowledge Channel, the acknowledged leaders in promoting quality education in the Philippines, is in search of schools whose approaches to improving their own learning systems raise the bar of excellence in the country. The 2nd Excellence in Educational Transformation Awards (EETA) is an award unique to itself, in the sense that it does not recognize names or personalities; rather, it pays tribute to the best practices and educational techniques that are worth sharing with others.

“The EETA motivates schools to pursue academic excellence and efficient school administration. The winners exemplify transformation, which refers to the ability of the school to innovate and manage changes, to improve and turn around a difficult situation and to upgrade or uplift education standards,” said Dr. Eduardo Morato Jr., Bayan Academy president.

The annual award, now accepting entries, is open to all elementary and secondary schools, both public and private, who have introduced meaningful and beneficial innovations in their own scholastic environments, uplifting standards through a deliberate process involving stakeholder groups, and learning from the lessons provided by their transformation strategies and programs. Seven winners, to be judged by respected authorities and personalities in the field of education and management, will be awarded a trophy and a cash prize of P300,000 each. A top award, the EETA Most Transformative School for Learning Effectiveness and School Efficiency Award, will receive a trophy and P500,000.
