Becoming a flight attendant an exciting and rewarding career

MANILA, Philippines - Sometimes in life, it takes one summer season to change it all. During summer, high school graduates decide on what college to enroll into; college graduates weigh on what kind of work they will choose; a lot of people make life-changing decisions during this time that will make or break their careers.

At the International Cabin Attendant Training School (ICATS) — the most sought-after flight attendant school in Manila, its groundbreaking 40-day intensive course has changed the lives of Filipino youths dreaming to see the world. The dreams of 85 students have now become realities as they now see the world as flight attendants of top-notch airlines.

“Nearly all of our graduates are presently working as flight attendants of various airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air, Nas Air (a sister company of Saudi Arabian Airlines), and Yemenia Airways,” said Princess Joy Garcia, CEO/CMO of ICATS. “We are very elated because they have passed the stringent qualifications of these airlines due to the rigorous training that they have received from ICATS. We are also very proud of them because they are now helping their families and earning their own keep.”

The reason for the high success rate of ICATS graduates being employed by airlines is due to the fact that the ICATS curriculum is based on standards set by international flight attendant schools. Included in the five-module training are subjects on personality development, aircraft familiarization, emergency situation and procedures, customer relationship and services, and on board service. Add to that, hands-on training by qualified and competent instructors who are equipped with years of experience flying with major and prominent international airlines, have been very beneficial to the students.

“The subjects are not just about the basics of being a flight attendant. We want to teach them how they can apply the theories properly, so when they are in the actual airline setting, they will already have an advantage over the others,” said Princess.
