Aboitiz calls on youth leaders to join 7th business summit

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Aboitiz Group is now accepting applications from promising college students from all over the country to participate in the 7th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit (AFLBS) on Aug. 17-18, 2012 in Cebu City.

Since 2006, the AFLBS has been bringing together the country’s top 90 college students nationwide for a two-day event that will feature activities about business and leadership. The gathering is the Aboitiz Group’s way of preparing today’s potential youth leaders for the corporate world and at the same time, inspiring them to develop renewed faith and hope in our country.

Working on the theme “Significantly Changing My Philippines,” the Summit makes delegates participate in plenary discussions, games and teambuilding exercises that simulate real work and business situations. These activities have been carefully crafted to prepare these top student leaders for their role in nation-building and motivate them to respond to the everyday call of leadership.

The Summit also gives the delegates an opportunity to establish networks and form ties with CEOs, executives, team leaders and team members of the Aboitiz Group, as well as fellow young leaders.

Interested participants must be a Filipino citizen, not more than 25 years old at the time of the Summit, and an incoming 3rd or 4th year student (for four-year courses) or 4th or 5th year student (for five-year courses) taking up Business Management, Accounting, Communications, Political Science, Information Technology, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Psychology, Economics and Law. They must belong to the top 20 of their class, be an active leader or officer of any student organization, have excellent communication skills, and are not facing any disciplinary case inside or outside the campus.

For more information and to download application forms, students can check out the website http://careers.aboitiz.com. Details are found under the Future Talents link. You may also contact Vianney Yap at (032) 4111774 or send her an e-mail at futuretalents@ aboitiz.com. Deadline for submission of entries is on March 30, 2012.
