DOST honors FEU alumnus

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-National Research Council of the Philippines honored Far Eastern University alumnus Dr. Paciente Altera Cordero Jr. during the celebration of DOST’s 78th General Membership Assembly. The Tamaraw was given due recognition for his work on Philippine aquatic resources and ecology. Cordero graduated from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Botany. Since he left the university, he has made numerous contributions in the field of aquatic resources and ecology. His notable contributions include the discovery of new species of marine red algae from the Ilocos Norte province. His passion has enabled him to publish an extensive body of works that has benefited students, teachers, entrepreneurs, and the fisher folk.
