Universal marks 6th anniversary, appoints new officers

MANILA, Philippines – Domingo Tay, president of Universal College of Paranaque, announced the names of new officers of the college to boost its educational philosophy of combining technology and the arts for excellence and peace.

They are: Cindy Dollente Ang, vice president for academic affairs; Pamela Imperial, vice president for finance; Bernardita Isip, dean, College of Nursing; Efhraim Novenario, dean, College of Engineering; Teresita Hermosa, OIC, College of International Hotel and Tourism Management; Roberto Lizardo, director, research and development; Elpidio Vicedo, director, community development; Genevieve Nilayan, registrar; Marjorie Ann Nonesa, director, admission and marketing; and Richard Bobadilla, chair, faculty development. Other members of the management committee include Cervin Colasito, dean, College of Information Technology Education; Dennis Cosme, dean, College of Education and Student Affairs; and Ramil Sarabia, dean, College of Business and Accountancy.

Universal recently celebrated its 6th founding anniversary highlighted by an inter-high school song festival participated in by 28 high schools from Paranaque, Muntinlupa, Taguig, Las Pinas, Cavite and Makati. Declared champion was Princess Mary Culala of Blessed Trinity School of Las Pinas.

In preparation for SY 2011-2012, it conducted an institutional planning session last April 16-18 among administrators, faculty, and administrative staff at Johndel’s Resort in Nasugbu, Batangas. Summer this year is highlighted by the Summer School for Community Children conducted by the Office of Community Development, and the Course on Research Methods for administrators and faculty sponsored by Office of Research and Development.          

The UCP’s curricular offerings include degree programs in Accountancy, Business Administration, Nursing, Midwifery, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Tourism, Information Technology, Information System, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Elementary Education and Secondary Education.

It also offers diploma and certificate courses in caregiving, practical nursing, culinary arts and information technology.
