Letran, Ad Foundation announce AdSpeak '11 winners

MANILA, Philippines - Colegio de San Juan de Letran, in partnership with the Advertising Foundation of the Philippines, convened more than 700 delegates from 28 colleges and universities when it held AdSpeak ‘11, a student convention on values advertising.

Letran and the Advertising Foundation of the Philippines co-presented AdSpeak ’11 since they share the same goal of promoting values and worthwhile advocacies in advertisements.

The SRO event was held at the Student Center Auditorium of Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros, Manila.

AdSpeak ‘11 aimed to impress upon future communicators the importance of advertising with positive values. Advertising experts who shared their insights during the whole-day affair were Tony Sarmiento, VP for Integration of Ace Saatchi & Saatchi; Chiqui Lara, President of Y&R Philippines; Eugene Demata, Executive Creative Director of DM9Jayme Syfu; Nonna Nanagas, President of Dentsu Philippines and Mon Jimenez, Founder of JimenezBasic.

The culmination of the event was the presentation of the AdSpeak Values Advertising Awards, chosen by the resource speakers, and the Students’ Choice Awards, judged by the student delegates. The best public service ads were awarded in four categories: Print, Radio, TV and Campaign.

For the Values Advertising Awards, the big winners were students from Mapua Institute of Technology (Best Print PSA), Colegio de San Juan de Letran (Best Radio PSA), Lyceum of the Philippines University (Best TV PSA) and Ateneo de Manila University (Best Campaign PSA).

The Students’ Choice Awards were won by delegates from Lyceum of the Philippines University (Best Print PSA), Colegio de San Juan de Letran (Best Radio PSA), and University of the Philippines - Diliman (Best TV PSA and Best Campaign PSA).

The annually-held AdSpeak also announced the winners of the Online Choice competition, given to the entries that garnered the highest number of votes in a poll conducted by Jobs DB.com. This year’s awardees were students from De La Salle University – Dasmarinas (Best Print PSA), Colegio de San Juan de Letran (Best Radio PSA and Best TV PSA) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Best Campaign PSA).

The event was supported by Enervon Multivitamins, ABS CBN, Philippine Survey and Research Center, MyPhone, Koffee Haus Iced Coffee, Ocho Ocho Chewy Choco Candy, Jobs DB.com and Adobo Magazine.
