Accreditation organization puts spotlight on AIM

-

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) Assessment Resource Center put the spotlight on the Asian Institute of Management’s Assurance of Learning (AoL) program.

The AoL program at AIM was established to achieve and maintain an environment of excellence in all its degree programs. In line with its pursuit to produce socially responsible entrepreneurial leaders and managers, the (AoL) program serves as an essential tool in meeting the standards of the AACSB.

According to Dr. Ricardo Lim, Associate Dean for the Washington SyCip Graduate School of Business (WSGSB), the program is highly compatible with the institution’s pedagogy as it exhibits multiple occasions of measurement.

The program is orchestrated with the institution’s mission and reflected in each courses’ goals and objectives. Putting it to practice entails the relentless commitment of the AOL board and committee, faculty, staff and even the IT department, in evaluating outcomes, maintaining databases as well as continuous training.

The program also involves alumni and other functional specialists who help in assessing and improving courses. Furthermore, regular focus group discussions are conducted with business networks such as human resource employers, to continually identify appropriate learning goals and effective course design as new requirements arise.
