City Savings Bank CSR projects focus on education

-

MANILA, Philippines - City Savings Bank (CitySavings) continues to embark on socio-civic projects that promote educational improvements as manifestation of its support for its biggest clients — public school teachers in the country.

Through the years, the thrift bank has been conducting various community relations projects as part of its thrust to stay focused on the needs of its teacher-clients while continuing to provide efficient banking service.

An Aboitiz company, CitySavings believes in the vital role of education in nation building and how providing public schools with the necessary infrastructure and facilities could help students be at par with those from private educational institutions.

Bank employees regularly conduct Brigada Eskwela-related activities in at least 50 schools in Visayas and Mindanao areas where CitySavings has branches. This is in support of the Department of Education (DepEd) initiative to tap the private sector to help in the repair and maintenance works of public schools nationwide.

The Bank has also partnered with the Kool Adventure Camp of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) in hosting the Leadership Enhancement Adventure Program, benefiting over 100 teachers, supervisors and principals from Region 8 and students from Barili town in Cebu.

It has also sponsored the holding of RAFI’s Young Minds Academy, as well as research proposals and seminars for DepEd personnel.

Over the years, the Bank has donated computer sets and other equipment to over 50 schools in its areas of operation.

Aside from supporting educational initiatives, CitySavings also actively takes part in tree planting activities of the Aboitiz Group in Cebu and Davao.
