MANILA, Philippines - The country’s premier building and construction trade exhibit on innovations and sustainability brings to the youth its advocacy of promoting green architecture through the “2nd Green Architecture Student Symposium.”
The symposium, one of the highlights of the Construction Show Manila (ManilaCon), will be held on Sept. 5, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the SMX Convention Center at the SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
To be presented by architect Miguel Guerrero, the event will help students conceptualize, organize, design and present green thesis or design plate.
The lecture entitled “Thesis and Design Plates: Green Strategies and Concepts” will tackle the elements of a good green thesis or design plate from conceptualizing design plate, site planning, building design, utilities, materials and cutting edge green technologies.
Guerrero is a member of the College of Fellows of the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) and one of the first 12 APEC Architects in the Philippines. He has also joined the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and is active in Green Architecture advocacies.
Another significant construction industry event, the Green Forum, happens simultaneous with the ManilaCon.
The Green Forum is a joint effort of Green AP and LADCI. It is a venue for local and the international practitioners of green and sustainable building design to share their best practices, knowledge and experiences. The event will be held on Sept. 3-4 at the SMX Convention Center.
